Welcome to New Start

New Start uses highly trained testers to conduct HIV tests. After your pre-test counselling session, the tester will collect you from the waiting area and explain the testing process to you. The unopened test kits and testing materials will then be shown to you and blood samples will be drawn from a tiny finger prick that is relatively painless. Two HIV tests are then run at the same time.

They both have to show the same result and this is the result which will be reported to you. The tests will take about 15 minutes to run and you will wait for the results in the waiting area.
