Welcome to New Start

The Society For Family Health (SFH) developed the New Start HIV Counselling and Testing programme in partnership with the Government of South Africa (GOSA). New Start is funded by the Global Fund via the South African National Department of Health and the US President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

SFH is a registered not for profit organisation. As a locally-incorporated affiliate of Population Services International (PSI), a global social marketing organisation, SFH has access to global best practices in various health technical areas communications, research, financial and project administration and procurement.

Social marketing is the non-profit use of commercial marketing techniques to address public health issues. SFH uses social marketing techniques to provide a range of HIV prevention products and services, as well as HIV prevention information and health communications.
